a great fight.
the defining fight of Randy's career.
And perhaps the single best fight to show of Randy's career to say why he really should be fighting at 205!

so you havent seen the other 2 fights with liddell? shows how much randy really sucks for being a greco-clinching noob, liddell learned and practiced his gameplan and he got completely owned. who cares at least that piece of shit wont be champion in a while

Ofcourse I've seen the other two fights with Liddell... Chuck was on a role & Randy was having problems in life + his head wasn't there. Randy is a scientist..., he executes gameplans based on intricate details such as angles of punches & distancing... <-- things which other fighters, including champions, ignore. He noticed Chuck's lack of head movement + noticed that a stiff jab, followed by straights (no hooks) would be the best way to set up his clinch.. and work from there.
VS Chuck the other two times he didn't look like the methodical, Bernard Hopkins of MMA.. he looked like someone simply wanted to rush in & get the clinch.. and he was too tentative with his own hands + movement.
Did you not see how Randy dealt with Vitor?.. That's Randy at his methodical best (as he is here). Although the 2nd time they fought, I do think if Vitor's punch had been an inch to the right he woulda hit the temple clean n knocked Randy's lights out. Back to Randy-- Yes he's changed, and he's not quite the same PERSON he was 3-4 years ago.. but as a fighter, he's still got the potential to do this to great fighters..! And he can hang with ppl like Jacare as far as BJJ goes... (although I do think Nogueira would beat Randy by a 3rd round submission if they ever fought).
Chuck practiced his gameplan? Chuck's gameplan is always the same. KTFO them, catch them coming in...! If they don't go out, sprawl.. keep distance & then catch them again!
Greco-clinching noob?.. Grecos + genuine Muay Thai fighters are beautiful in the clinch.. and extremely technical. Don't be ignorant towards clinch work as ppl were towards BJJ 10-12 years ago!

lol @ problems in life, chuck adjusted to randy's piss poor game-plan and punished him, simple as that. it all worked out too, chuck is still in the UFC and randy voided his contract to film a sequel to an already shitty movie

lol agree about the movie.
but Randy's piss poor game-plan? The fights (2 and 3) were short, didn't even go late into the first rounds!!
Randy didn't show any game-plan.. he didn't show anything except that he doesn't have Nogueira's jaw and CAN be knocked out...
He never closed the distance and clinched Chuck.. so what gameplan did Randy show?
Chuck's gameplan was the same in fights 2 + 3 as it was in fight 1 (and pretty much all of Chuck;s fights). Sprawl if opponent shoots (which Randy doesn't)... avoid the clinch.. circle, wait for him to come in and commit.. and hit him with a knockout counter-punch! Difference? He caught Randy with a counter-punch in 2 + 3... but in number 1, randy got inside and worked the clinch-game.
