This fight was good, i know not too many punches, but awesome footwork, and lesson of tactic inside octagon.
I just don't want to watch constant running like kalib starnes vs nate quarry, i want to watch a fight that has a lot of action like Gsp vs Matt Serra. Admitingly not all fights have to be interesting but if that fight is the main show they should put some more fight into it. If the KO was not there and it was a unanimous decision it would have been a boring fight.
i think it was a real good fight all the way up to the knockout.. i couldnt ask for a better display of kickboxing on all levels; approach, striking, counters.. rashad impressed me.. i hate rashad, always have, always found his fights to be lacklusters.. but he put on a good one vs. chuck and landed a beauty
i def have to disagree with you tho.. i know i didnt see any running in the octagon in this fight, i dont know anyone else who saw any runnin either.. the fight had the makings of a beaut if it went to decision, woulda been an awesome clinic in mma standup.. but it wouldnt have, the way rashad was willing to stand and bang, if he didnt ko chuck then chuck surely woulda ko'd him before the end of round 3, chuck was basically smothering evans around the close edges of the cage.. having chuck liddell have u trapped that close to the cage isnt going to be comfortable for anybody. he did an awesome job landing that blow when he did.
i just hate how chuck doesnt cover up conventionally.. he keeps his hands too low lookin for the uppercut or that awkward right overhand which is more like a fuckin weird powerful straight hook.. anyway, i was disappointed since chuck is up there on my favorite fighters list, but it happens. that shot was perfect, so kudos to evans. i hope chuck bounces back somehow
Wow, I read the results on yahoo but it didn't do it justice. I had chuck to win by TKO, I guess Rashad felt different. Chuck will be feeling that for a few days.

I can't stand a cocky fighter. Chuck won every exchange in round 1. Just wait untill Rashad's 1st loss. I think it will all go downhill. I don't have to resort to name calling, to express my opinion. Right on. I have to also root for the founders of the modern age of MMA. It sucks, because all of the fighters that I loved are getting up there in age. They're bound to start losing. Tank, royce, Wanderlei,Liddell,Shamrock, they're all passing their prime.

the next it fighter... hmmmm i would have to say in 205 class will be either rich franklin or machida... in the lightweight div in the future it will be nate diaz but right now its bj for a while, welter wieght... gsp's reign will be long and tuff, but john fitch will be back up there... and i see karo makin a comeback for some reason... middle wieght ... no one till anderson silva leaves.... heavy is mos def brock lesnar in about 3or 4 years....

Chuck was basically beat at his own game. Chuck is a counter striker, which works when your hands are faster than the guy standing across from you. Rashad has faster hands, I can't stand the guy, but he is fast. If you watch the KO, Rashad fakes a left jab (not so much a fake as much as it was to distract Chuck), which causes Chuck to try a counter punch, and Rashad throws the bomb overhand right. Lights out.
I think Chuck was expecting Rashad to shoot and try and GnP him. Like Rashad said in the ring after the fight, you can't beat Chuck trying to take him down, you have to beat him at his own game.

Word man you said it the best… rashad is hella quick… and hard to catch… I noticed that lil fake jab… I don’t even know if it was a jab or a cock back…. Lol… but either way he did beat chuck at his own game…. If you notice the first round rashad was the aggressor thus losing the first round… at the end of the round we saw that change and he started countering, that is when he beat chuck at his own game… he lured him in with a few combo’s that would have knocked lesser fighters to the ground… and chuck kept on the attack… he got too over zealous…. It happens… the sky is the limit for showboat evans… lidell has little time to revise his fighting strategies…..
Lhw division is stacked though so it’s a tuff road for rashad… and seeing as how the MW division is at a standstill till silva loses rashad should just stay put
