Big action! You never see this in UFC.
And then, after seeing this, some people still argue that soccer kicks, stomps and knees to the head are not effective weapons and are not needed!

It's not that they're not effective - it's obvious that they are, they're just unnecessarily brutal (especially the "soccer" kicks which cause such severe, long-term trauma to the brain that it's no wonder that they're illegal in most MMA organisations). No-one wants to get into the ring and come out dead or a vegetable.
*edit*
My internet was being shit and not letting me view the video before, but that video was brutal. Some great knockouts and some questionable refereeing there... You've got to wonder how the human brain can withstand such punishment.

Yea those are sweat knock outs but my beef with pride was I don't think there was any such sing as sportsmanship in pride every one was out to straight murder not just win and I think the refs sucked they let the fighters take way to much punishment before ending a fight. thats one thing I really like about the ufc refs there professionals and they look out for the fighters.

I think a Knee is far more devastating than a kick.,...a knee to a downed oponent...its pretty damn bad.. worst than a soccer kid.

Everything has its place. Good for pride for allowing those soccer kicks and stomps. But guess what Pride is gone and get use to it. The UFC isnt the one that doesnt allow these kicks and stomps. The SACs is the people who make the rules. So to start crying about the UFC this and that. Please put the real blame where it belongs.

Congratulations for the most ridiculous comment in this thread. You have no evidence for your claims.
The truth is that UFC refs are amateurs. Many fights have been stopped too early, and there has been lots of controversy. Also, recently somebody posted a video where Herb Dean (UFC ref) didn't stop the fight even after the bell.
In Pride there are only few cases where the fight was stopped maybe too early. And I don't know of any case where they stopped it too late, causing injuries to somebody.
Your comment about "looking for fighters" is typical American bullshit. You think that Americans are the only professional people who can do things in the right way. The fact is that you only want to make money - as much as possible, and by any means.
Shame on you American UFC fanboy!

THere is nothing rediculous about my "thread" I'm not saying the ufc refs are perfect and yea I see the herb dean vid but guess what that wasn't a ufc fight. Read what I said I'm surprised there wasn't more reports of injury from them stoping fights to late. Look at that video and in my opinion alote of those fights should have been stoped way earlier for the fighters safty. im not into the typical amarican bull shit but I do believe in the fighters safty first. Not to mention injury from blows like that more often than not show up years down the line.

It was not a UFC fight. But Dean is one of the main UFC refs, as I said. And that clip really proves that he is an amateur.

Why do you watch MMA if you are a coward?
Everyone of us knows that several years of boxing/MMA/whatever is bad for one's health, and knockouts make harm to one's brain. But that's the nature of combat sports. You shouldn't make a career as a boxer or MMA fighter if you are afraid of injuries.

Its true that many fighters dont want the fight to stop.... but you know what.... im glad they do. If I was in there I would want to keep fighting.... but I know that my family and friends would otherwise. These guys need protection.... even if they are fighters.... they are still human beings.
I think it was a good call to eliminate soccer kicks. They do add to the game.... yes.... but a kick is about 70% more damaging than a punch. And whoever made the comment about knees being more powerful.... that isn't true. Knees are bad.... yes... but nothing will compare to getting your full body behind a kick. Soccer kicks can really damage somebody... its a good call to take them out.

Who the fuck are you to call me a coward. Not only do I watch it. I do it. Just because I think there are ways to avoid unnecessary injurys don't mean I'm a coward it just mean I want a life out side of the sport as well. This isn't fight till the death its fight to win. Get over your self tuff guy.
