funny how they gave the Canadian awhile to recover, but stopped it the before hironaka fully hit the mat.
i agree. also the commentators were biased til hironaka had him on the ground with that left hook in round 1.
again in this event it's clear how early the fights are being stopped in the ufc.. i'm in no way into the "pride > ufc" thing but in pride lots of times the fight would continue, even with kicks to the downed opponent and we got to see some amazing comebacks. in the ufc nowadays we see at least one fight per event where the loser is complaining or the call is downright questionable.
this is seriously starting to hold back the sport's interest in my opinion, fights can't be over that quick at the first sight of an imminent ko. the fighters know what they're in for, let them do it!
but he had already fallen down before.... i think it was a good stoppage.
maybe it was. maybe hironaka could've turned it around. your probably right. yet here we are talking about it, when in my opinion there shouldn't be a shadow of a doubt on the outcome of a fight.
and more and more the ufc fights are prone to this sort of argument, which is bad for the sport. granted, most of the times we hear this talk it's some blood thirsty fan who just wants to see more. but not all the time.
i'm just saying this, i'm not a ref or a doctor, it wouldn't surprise me some years from now a lot of fighters that went through the rougher orgs will be brain damaged and what not and they should be protected but the ufc is exaggerating in my opinion and putting the truth of an outcome on the line in the process... and it leaves room to wonder why they do it.
